Fickle exs turned friends turned traitor
My ex had always said he wanted to keep being friends even after we broke up. We were doing that until a new girl showed up in his life. They're going out now and he has entirely transformed into a male imitation of his new girlfriend. With that I've been banished from hanging out with him and can only talk to him rarely if at all. She would of course prefer not at all. Zero contact. So much for how much he said he cared about me even as a friend. My father was right, at any moment a friend will toss you aside. Unfortunately ties are so weak these days that even some family will toss you aside if they have something to gain by it. It makes me sad to know this.

House Sitting
So I'm house sitting for my godmother. Only things I have to do is take care of the pets. Easy enough job with $75 in pay for 4 days. Although it is more like 3 since they come back on Friday and they lefy today. I brought all my usual travel stuff along with the Midnight Margarita Bar sample made by SimplySoap. So far I find it to have been a good choice.
Today I went to Mitsuwa, a Japanese marketplace. It is all enclosed within one building and houses a grocery store, book store, video store, food court, sweets shop, and tea shop. From the grocery store I bought some snacks I've been wanting to try that aren't available in my area. Such as Melon pan. I also bought some snacks from the sweets shop. In the food court I ate a bowl of authentic ramen. The one I had was the miso ramen. It was good, although I could have done without the green onions.
Other then that little trip I didn't do much. Just browsed a beauty store and went back to check on the dog. Two dvds, a walk, and dinner later, here we are. House sitting has turned out to be quite unevenful. I think I'll check out the Orange County Fair tomorrow.

Delivery Dilemma, Solving Mysteries, Order Mishaps, and Soapy Happiness
As I said last time, I placed and order with SimplySoap. I ordered the Wylde Faerie sampler. They did notify me of both my purchase and that they sent it. On the day of delivery the package nor the delivery notice arrived. After several phone calls and a trip to the post office I was dumbfounded as to where my package could be.
The mystery was solved with an e-mail to SimplySoap. They had accidentally sent it to my billing address instead of my shipping address. After checking the mail at home (which we rarely check), I found the delivery notice. The next day I went to the post office and picked up my package.
When I opened the package I received a surprise. They had sent me the Wylde Wytch sampler instead of the one I ordered! I notified SimplySoap and they were very polite and helpful. So my correct order will be in the mail on Monday for no extra charge. They were kind enough to let me keep the Wylde Wytch sampler for the trouble.
Even though it was because of the order mishap, conversing with Carol Ochs (the soap maker of SimplySoap) was enjoyable. As I mentioned before she was more then polite and her personally really shone through in her e-mails. They were not dry responses from a company, but lively and personalized replies from a woman that clearly is a fun soul. I plan on purchasing from her again and as my Mother has a Flower and Gift Shop, having my Mother start a wholesale account with SimplySoap. From the scent and look of the samples I have so far, they would be a wonderful product to stock in the store.
I'll let you all know how the soaps are when used next time. 'Til then!

Disappointment and Hair Combs
So the local Ice Cream Social was very disappointing. Of course that may be because I had the Sunset Market in Oceanside to compare it to. I did a walk around and promptly left. There was nothing there of interest at all.
I haven't hear anything from SimplySoap.com since I placed my order yesterday. Hopefully they'll let me know when they ship my order.
Today was very uneventful. The highlight being that I bought myself a pack of EZ Combs. I read some customer complaints, but so far they have worked out for me. I'm having trouble keeping some of my shorter pieces of hair from coming loose though.

Choices
As I said yesterday I was considering a few choices of soap selections to order from SimplySoap.com
I finally decided on the Wylde Faerie Sampler Pack. So sometime next week I should be getting seven 1.5oz bars. One for each type of 'Wylde Faerie Soap" they make. The one I'm looking forward to the most is the Honey, Milk, and Vanilla soap. It just sounds really good. I hear (as per the review on "The Soap Bar" blog) that the Jasmine and Orange Blossom soap is good too.
Depending on how I like them I'll be ordering a full bar of my favorite type and trying out some of their other selections.
In local news, in the Imperial Valley tonight is the Ice Cream Social/Rain on Main in El Centro. It start at 5pm and ends at 10pm. I plan on going around 5:30-6. I'm not sure how long I'll stay as it really depends on how interesting the event is. Nothing in this valley is ever very big. So there probably won't be very much to see.

Sick Day, Vacation, and Soap
Everyone seems to be getting sick today. My Mom woke up with dizziness and generally just not feeling well so I opened up at the shop for her. I've been here all day. Since she is sick I don't really mind. Not much has occurred today besides a few customers, deliveries, and a visit from my ex picking up something he had left with me.
I'm still interested in perfumes, but as I already own enough to last me a good while I'm not looking into buying any at this time or even in the near future. I ended up buying a Travalo for myself as well as for my Mother and Grandmother. They got gold ones and I got a pink one. One of them actually leaked so I wrote to the company and they sent me a replacement for free. That's mighty good customer service.
Recently I took a five day trip to Oceanside. It was so much fun! It was with one of my friends. She and her boyfriend had recently split up so it was like a vacation for the heart broken. We're both feeling better now. It could be better though. While there we went to the Sunset Market they hold every Thursday. We had planned on attending the Farmer's Market, but failed to do so as we overslept. While there we procured some cute hair ornaments (two each) and I got myself a 2oz bottle of Vanilla Body Oil. It smells divine, but the scent doesn't last on the skin. That might be because I put on lotion first though. I'll try it tomorrow without lotion and see how that works out. The woman that sold it to me has a website: http://www.lotionlady.com. It might be worth checking out. The hair ornaments are also sold online, from which I found out that the man at the market over charged us. The site is: http://www.lrose.biz.
I completed all my souvenir shopping there as well. An adorable glass teapot with a flower inside for my mother, a CD for my Father, and a Chinese jewelry box for my Grandmother.
The "Lotion Lady" also had handmade soaps for sale. I regret not buying one at the time as I can't seem to find any in my area. So looking online I've found that these particular items are pricier then in person. However there is a lot more selection. I've found a site with products that have caught my interest. It is: http://www.simplysoap.com. Once I decide what to get I'll place an order. Right now it's between the "Wylde Faerie Soap Sampler Pack", "Wylde Wytch Sampler Pack", and the "White Elephant Soap Scraps" bag. The White Elephant bag is a good deal, but the sampler packs come with each soap sample labeled. This company is located in San Diego, so anything I order should actually get to me in less then a week. Therefore I am not in much of a hurry to make a decision. I wonder what I'll choose though?
